Miss Lisa's February Newsletter

TBT Butterflies MWF Class
February 1, 2011
Hope all of you enjoyed your first month of 2011. We celebrated in January by experiencing the seven species of Israel like the pomegranate, fig, grapes, olives, barely, dates, and wheat for Tu B’ Shavot. “These fruits are good deeds and Mitzvots that we do to bring spiritual nourishment to those around us.” The weather was perfect for us all to plant in our garden as well as pulling a few weeds and having some garden fun.
This month we will be talking about three different topics beginning with, “The Healthy Heart” and we will culminate it with the Jog- a- thon on Friday February 25th. The second topic is discovering about The Lunar New Year with their festive art projects and a bit of food experience from China and Korea. The Lunar New Year starts February 3rd and it is celebrated for 15 days, so we will be experiencing it throughout this month.  And the third and last topic we will touch a little about the Presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln and their birthdays. Your children love birthdays so why not celebrate the two Presidents and learn a little bit about who they were.
A big Thank you to all of you, I really enjoyed our conferences on Monday. It was a perfect time for us to sit down and reflect about your children and how well they are growing in our program. I look forward to the next 5 months with them in my class.

MISS SANDIE'S FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER 2011

February, 2011 ~Miss Sandie's Class~

Shalom Families!
February is now here and we have a lot of fun things planned!
We will have our Winter festivities on Thursday Feb 10th.
This is much like the Harvest Festival where we will have various areas set up outside and the children can roam from place to place.
We DEFINITELY need some parent helpers to make this be a successful event. It is about an hour of your time to volunteer. Please let me know
if you are interested.

As you may know, TBT does not celebrate Valentine's Day.
Please refrain from sending treats, or Valentine cards for friends.
We will be talking about LOVE, KINDNESS, and of course HEALTHY HEARTS instead of "Valentine's Day"

At the end of the month, we will have our school Jogathon.
We also need some parent volunteers to help with this event.
It is a great fund raiser, promoting exercise and healthy hearts!
The children will have a great time running "laps" around the perimeter
of the school. Even if you can't help, your child will love seeing you there
to support them!

Thank You to everyone for coming in to meet for a conference.
Your time is very much appreciated.

Enjoy the month!

~Miss Sandie~
