October Newsletter

Hi TBT Tues/Thurs Parents!
We have had quite a month with all of our fun filled holidays!
Thank you for coming to our Sukkot event. It was a a great day!
This month we will be talking about the season of Autumn and learning about
harvesting and all the other things fall has to offer.
We will be going to the Painted Pony Farm on Tuesday October 19th. It is a very fun field trip.
Each child needs to have a parent present. We will be making butter, milking goats, and
looking at all the pumpkins. Don't forget sunscreen and cameras!

Our Share day is every Thursday.
Reminder, please only bring in one thing from home! Our time for 8 children to share is very limited.
Also, as many of you know, TBT does not celebrate Halloween.
Please don't bring in any costumes or Halloween treats to share.
Next Tuesday October 12th is our evening school BBQ. It is a very fun event and I highly encourage you to attend.
Please fill out the form in the classroom so we know how many people will be there.

We will also be starting a more formal Shabbat on the last Thursday of the month.
Janis Knight, our school educator, will come to the sanctuary with us to read a Shabbat Story and talk about the meaning of Shabbat. Once a month, your child will get to be the "Shabbat Star" which means they bring in a snack to share, and a poster all about them! You can join your child at 11:30 for a short service.
This is a great way for the children to gain a stronger Jewish identity and have a special time for themselves.
I will place a sign up sheet for Shabbat Star in the classroom. Please sign up only one time this year.
Lori Dearman, Shayna's mom, is going to be our room parent until January 2011
If anyone wants to take over this job, starting at that time, I would be very grateful. This job includes, calling parents if last minute things come up, possibly scheduling some field trips, helping in class maybe once a month for a cooking project, and maybe grabbing some items at a grocery store if needed in a pinch. It is not a lot of work but it is a fun way to get involved. Thank you Lori for creating our class roster!
We have hard copies in the classroom. Please let me know if you want a copy emailed to you.
I am having a lot of fun in our TBT class. We have an amazing group of children and parents!
Thank you for being so supportive of our school!
Shalom!
